The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)’s Board of Investment has released data showing that since 2006, over 1,110 projects, amounting to more than $67 billion, have been invested in the Kurdistan Region. Out of these, 45 projects were foreign investments from 16 different countries.
Foreign investors in the Kurdistan Region have contributed more than $10 billion in capital, accounting for 15.12% of the total investment projects.
Additionally, there are 29 joint ventures between local and foreign investors, with a combined capital of nearly $2 billion. These projects represent 2.53% of the total investment initiatives.
The data highlights a significant increase in the amount of foreign capital in recent years.
In 2021 alone, the number of foreign projects in the Kurdistan Region has doubled.
